Our Grand Adventure
The Banks Family will be gone for 3 weeks!
And to answer your question, Brendan was able to get off of work for 3 weeks, well really 15 days, because the other days are his scheduled off days... anyways, he was able to take off because he originally gets 30 days paid paternity leave. Since he was in the academy when we had our sweet baby Breland, he was only able to take one day off. That was the day that we had him. He went back to work the next day.
So, we will be heading out this week! We are excited to take a true family vacation. This has really been a whirlwind of a year. September 9th was our 1 year anniversary of being in this house! We moved here, when I was 7 months pregnant, in the middle of the police academy. Since then, Brendan has started his career, we've had a baby, and started a business!!
I am praying that this will be the true breather that we need to kind of catch up on life. We have had so much happen, that we really haven't had a chance to relax and soak it all up!! We will get a well deserved break!!
All I need is a couple of days on the beach, and I will be restored.. oh my, I can't wait.. We will be traveling up the east side of the country, stopping in a few states along the way up to Indiana, which is our "destination" we will spend a week there with Brendans family, then continue or voyage back down to Texas!
I'm excited, because who knows when the next time we will get to take a vacation will be. I know I will be apprehensive to leave the restaurant for a while...
The best part about this, is we get to see so many people that we don't get to see often enough, and spend some quality time with them!! How amazing!
I just want to ask for prayers, for safe travel, for relaxation, for peace. It sounds silly asking for prayers over our vacation, but, I'm asking anyways, Pray that God keeps his hand over us, and that we find this time to get even closer to Him!
Pray especially for me, it's always hard to leave my family. We are so close, that leaving them for a month brings stinging tears to the back of my eyes.
I plan to blog everyday on our trip, and will not be updating my facebook, neither will Brendan. If you wish to stay up with us, do so via our blog :)
thanks, and we bid you adieu!!
